8th Dhul Hijjah — Yawm at-Tarwiyah

The Day the Journey to Allah Begins 🤍

Dhul Hijjah 8 — Day of Tarwiyah 2026

Assalam o Alaikum, dear brothers and sisters! 🌙

Today is the 8th of Dhul Hijjah — known as Yawm at-Tarwiyah — the Day of Quenching. It is the day when millions of Hujjaj leave Makkah and begin their sacred journey toward Mina — hearts full of love, eyes full of tears, lips full of Talbiyah.

Even if we are not in Makkah today — our hearts can still be there. Our duas can still reach Allah. These are the most blessed days of the entire year. Let us not let even one moment pass without filling it with something good. 🤍

🕋 What is Yawm at-Tarwiyah?

The word Tarwiyah comes from the Arabic root meaning "to quench thirst" or "to contemplate and reflect." On this day, the pilgrims would traditionally carry water from Zamzam to prepare for the journey ahead.

On the 8th of Dhul Hijjah, the Hujjaj travel from Makkah to Mina — the tent city — where they spend the night in prayer, remembrance, and preparation for the greatest day of the year: the Day of Arafah.

For those of us at home — this is a day to reflect, fast, make dua, and connect with Allah as deeply as we can. Because the gates of mercy are wide open right now. 🤲

📖 Quranic Verse 1 — Surah Al-Hajj 22:27

English Translation

"And proclaim to the people the Hajj — they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass."

📝 Tafseer — What Does This Mean?

This verse is about the moment when Allah commanded Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ to call humanity to Hajj. Ibrahim ﷺ asked: "O Allah, how can my voice reach all of mankind?" Allah replied: "You call — We will deliver."

SubhanAllah. That call was made thousands of years ago — and until today, billions of Muslims have answered it. Every person who makes Hajj is answering the call of Ibrahim ﷺ. Every Muslim who says "Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk" — here I am O Allah — is living this verse.

Lesson: When Allah wants something to happen — no distance is too far, no mountain too high. Trust His plan. Answer His call. 🤍

📖 Quranic Verse 2 — Surah Al-Baqarah 2:197

English Translation

"Hajj is in the well-known months. Whoever undertakes Hajj in them should not have sexual relations, commit sin, or quarrel during Hajj."

📝 Tafseer — What Does This Mean?

This verse teaches us that Hajj is not just a physical journey — it is a complete spiritual transformation. During Hajj, the believer must guard their tongue, their eyes, their heart, and their actions.

No arguments. No bad words. No sins. Just pure, complete submission to Allah. Imagine if we lived every day of our lives with this level of consciousness — how beautiful our character would become.

Lesson: Even if we are not performing Hajj — we can apply this verse today. Guard your tongue. Avoid arguments. Stay away from sin. Make today a day of pure worship. 🕊️

☪ Hadith About Dhul Hijjah

مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ

English Translation

"There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days — the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah."

📝 What This Hadith Means For Us Today

The Prophet ﷺ said these 10 days are MORE beloved to Allah than any other days — even more than the last 10 nights of Ramadan for deeds during the day. This is extraordinary.

Today — the 8th of Dhul Hijjah — is one of those 10 blessed days. Every prayer you pray today. Every ayah you recite. Every dua you make. Every sadaqah you give. It all carries a weight heavier than the same deeds on any other day of the year.

Do not let today pass without filling every moment with worship. You may never get this day again. 🤍

🌟 What to Do Today — 8th Dhul Hijjah

🤲 Fast today — Fasting in these days is among the most beloved deeds to Allah
📖 Read extra Quran — Even one extra Surah today carries enormous reward
🕋 Say Talbiyah — Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk — even at home
💛 Give Sadaqah — Any amount — in these blessed days it is multiplied
🌅 Make lots of Dhikr — SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallah

🕋 The Talbiyah — Say It Today

لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ

"Here I am O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am."

Today, millions of hearts are turned toward Makkah. Millions of lips are saying Labbayk. Millions of tears are falling for the love of Allah. Whether we are there or not — our hearts can be in that same state of love and surrender.

Make today count. Make every moment of Dhul Hijjah count. You are so close to Allah right now. 🤍

🌄 9th Dhul Hijjah — Yawm al-Arafah The Greatest Day of the Entire Year 🤍 Day of Arafah 2026 — Dhul Hijjah 9 Assalam o Alaikum, dear brothers and sisters! 🌙 Close your eyes for a moment. Imagine millions of people — from every country, every language, every background — all standing on one plain. No rich, no poor. No black, no white. No king, no beggar. Just human beings — dressed in simple white — crying, praying, asking Allah for forgiveness. That is Arafah. That is today. The Prophet ﷺ called this the greatest day of the year.
